The name of the Pradosh Vrat is based on the day of the week it falls on. Because this Pradosh falls on a Sunday (Ravivar in Hindi), it is known as Ravi Pradosh. It holds special significance for gaining the blessings of both Lord Shiva and Surya Dev (the Sun God).

A planet is called Combust or "Ast" when it comes too close to the Sun. The intense glare of the Sun makes the planet invisible to the naked eye. In astrology, a combust planet is considered weak because it loses its ability to express its own energy freely, often feeling "burnt out" or overshadowed by authority figures (represented by the Sun).

To harness the Sun's dynamic energy and mitigate the effects of Vaidhriti Yoga, worship Lord Surya Dev. Wake up early, perform Arghya (offer water) mixed with red vermilion and red flowers to the rising Sun, and chant the Surya Mantra. For Sagittarius, the horoscope specifically recommends worshipping Lord Shani Dev for relief.
