Mahashivratri will be celebrated on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The Chaturdashi Tithi starts at 05:04 PM on Feb 15 and ends at 05:34 PM on Feb 16. Since the night puja (Nishita Kaal) falls on Feb 15, that is the main date.

Nakshatras ruled by Mars (Mrigashira, Chitra, Dhanishta) and Sun (Krittika, Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashada) often face conflict during Saturn Mahadasha because Saturn considers Mars and Sun as enemies.

Leo (Singh) and Virgo (Kanya). Leo faces difficulties and hard work, while Virgo faces potential conflicts with officers/bosses due to anger.

The dog is the Vahana (vehicle) of Lord Kaal Bhairav. Feeding a dog, especially a black one, is considered direct service to the Lord. Astrologically, feeding a dog roti smeared with mustard oil helps pacify the malefic effects of Shani (Saturn) and Rahu.
