Sakat Chauth will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Since the Moonrise on Chaturthi occurs on the evening of Jan 6th, the fast is observed on this day.

In the Panchang, "Karan" is half of a Tithi. Today, the Vishti Karan is active from 07:04 AM to 05:59 PM. Vishti Karan is astrologically known as Bhadra. It is a destructive period during which starting new ventures, marriages, or major financial transactions is strictly prohibited.

1. Be honest in your dealings (Rahu punishes deceit in the 10th). 2. Respect your father and government rules. 3. Donate to orphanages or leper colonies. 4. Keep your head uncovered under the open sky for a few minutes daily to absorb cosmic energy.

Married women observe the Gangaur fast and perform the Puja to pray for the long life, health, and prosperity of their husbands, and for an eternally happy married life. Unmarried girls observe this fast to seek blessings for a good, loving, and desired husband in the future.
