While performing the Puja and offering flowers, devotees should chant: "Vande Navaghanshyamam Peeta Kausheyavaasasam. Saanandam Sundaram Shuddham Srikrishnam Prakriteh Param." (वंदे नवघनश्यामम् पीत कौशेयवाससम्। सानंदम् सुंदरम् शुद्धम् श्रीकृष्णम् प्रकृतेः परम्॥)

Kalashtami is observed every month on the Ashtami Tithi (eighth day) of the Krishna Paksha (waning moon phase). The upcoming observance falls on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

The most auspicious time of the day, known as Abhijit Muhurat, is active from 11:56 AM to 12:52 PM. This is a highly favorable window for making important decisions or offering prayers to Surya Dev.
