In the Ashtakvarga grid (Prastarashtakavarga), every zodiac sign (which is 30 degrees) is divided into 8 equal parts. Each of these 8 parts is called a "Kaksha" (कक्ष) and measures exactly 3° 45'. Planets travel through these Kakshas and deliver good or bad results based on whether that specific Kaksha contains an auspicious point (Bindu).
