Today is Vaishakha Shukla Chaturdashi (वैशाख मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की चतुर्दशी), and the day is Thursday (गुरुवार).

Parad (Mercury) is considered the semen of Lord Shiva. Worshipping a Parad Shivling is said to be a thousand times more effective than normal worship. It specifically removes poverty and Vastu defects from the house.

A sudden market crash or "Panic Fall" is most often associated with the Moon-Ketu conjunction or when the Moon is in Gandanta (the drowning point between water and fire signs).

Ashtami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) is dedicated to Goddess Durga. It symbolizes the awakening of spiritual energy (Shakti). Worshipping the Goddess on this day protects devotees from negative planetary influences.
